Brick After Brick, papa dada, June 2011

This is the first album that my band has released after the Prepopsterous EP in 2007. I wrote the music and lyrics to most of the songs, including the ones in the player below. The band plays a heady mix of carefree pop a la Dexy's Midnight Runners or Roger Glover, although our influences probably lie more with Ben Folds Five.

Lately I have also been composing and producing tracks for other artists. These are some of the demos. Work in progress I suppose...

In 2009, I responded to an ad from Zimbabwean poet Brita voice. She read her poems for almost 4 hours, pausing only to sip from a glass of water that I kept refilling. Then Oli, a Nigerian percussionist, took over my living room with a whole arsenal of African drums and balafons. This is a track from the album entitled Raunchy Kongonya Dance for Mugabe.

And finally, a trailer for a film production company. This is one of the few projects that has allowed me to dabble in sound design. Very fun to do, and wish I could do more!
